become reminded of why you create

there is something larger than what we can exactly grasp tethering us to one-another through art.

our project is an act to thoughtfully define the mysteries we face when consuming things favorably created by man. in example a common witness to creativity is transmutation of anxiety and fear into light.

thankful we are for this ability without it many would feel overwhelmed and lost.

we passionately believe that art saves lives.

we have countless examples of someones favorite musician writing into words and sounds letters of encouragement helping to relate in times of trouble or dread. sometimes these forms of expression keeps the listener going to the next day capable of taking on conflict knowing they are not alone.

often we’re notified how our journey making artwork motivates others to accomplish a variety of ideas and goals.

art is a phenomena that introduces worlds to those who couldn’t see them before.

in 2014 before this brand existed we crossed paths with the band known as Silent Planet.

we were set up with original card stock illustrations selling artwork outside of the venue.

not having any money at the time, we attempted to make our entry fee to see them perform from art sales.

Garrett Russell noticed me and immediately wanted to support my art. i admit, it was very unexpected to me because i was so used to bands having an arrogant rock star mentality. that wasn’t the case whatsoever. not in the slightest.

during the night we experienced immense syncronicities and dejavu. while they performed i channeled a message into an illustration. it was a broken planet, some honey bees, and a script “the meek will inherit the earth”. this imagery was inherently significant to us all.

this phenomena led to my never ending journey of understanding these complexities and blossomed my relationship with them. it’s been five years since and the universe continues to bring my artwork to new cities. Silent Planet just so happens to arrive at each one. unplanned.

together we write our story out for others to read.

together we share our passion for art, for it is truly our calling.

as the years pass and pages turn, we unconditionally follow our art inspiring hundreds and thousands in our path.

this is what it means to save a life through art.

artcvlt: music and animation showcase

october is our season. clearly.

our project began two years ago october, pretty much today (oct 16th). through all this anniversary excitement we’re going to celebrate this entire month with art gatherings and exhibitions FOR our family and supporters. our first exhibition was artcvlt XIII

this wednesday, we’re hosting a music and animation showcase, we’ll be screening FLCL (fooly cooly) -another favorite animation that inspired the core of this project and our artwork. in middle school, while being at in-school-suspension, drawing versions of the FLCL comic was a vivid memory. staying up late to catch the series on adultswim was a pastime as well.

“FLCL is an original video animation (OVA) anime series written by Yōji Enokido, directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki and produced by the FLCL Production Committee, which consisted of Gainax, Production I.G, and King Records. FLCL follows Naota Nandaba, a twelve-year-old boy living in the fictional Japanese suburb of Mabase, and his interactions with Haruko Haruhara, who arrives in the quiet suburb, drawn by the industrial town houses and the Medical Mechanica building.”[x]

the second half of the night will feature musical performances from our family of the arts. (scroll down for line up or visit our artcvlt tab)

the family of friends and artists that are supportive of the arts society we’re building is unheard of this day and age. a bit of imagination and creativity goes a very long way if you believe in yourself. others will see how hard you’re trying and then begin lending a helping hand or two. before you know it, the thoughts in your head are unfolding before your very eyes. the side effect is the community of free thinkers and visionaries our project gravitates.

friday the 13th was an example of that…

we held our spooky friday the 13th art show XIII in partnership with our family in knowla company & gloomy nation. we collaborated to host probably one of the coolest (we’re sure there’s many) art gatherings to grace the underground arts community of new orleans. #artcvlt xiii exhibition was out of a movie- completely a master piece of friends and lovers of the arts. it was such a honor being able to curate this gathering.

here’s the list of artists who showcased artwork: ida floreak, devin derbes, mr. balloon hands, equoni, leeaux, yoko, willo, tori benoit, yorel warr, chow.osama, & matthew castellano

here’s the list of artists who performed (order of performance): concept, abasi qadahfi, hellboy.hellboy, proper channels, e.t., austin rapbaum, tonee shark, dapper dan, shane valley, neji vibez, pauly, & djenko

many blessings for our friends at Mid City Pizza who sent some hot slices our way keeping bellies happy -there’s a special place in our hearts for you and Knowla Company.

sharing and tagging #artcvlt helps keep information floating around, thank you for sharing what you captured.
