become reminded of why you create

there is something larger than what we can exactly grasp tethering us to one-another through art.

our project is an act to thoughtfully define the mysteries we face when consuming things favorably created by man. in example a common witness to creativity is transmutation of anxiety and fear into light.

thankful we are for this ability without it many would feel overwhelmed and lost.

we passionately believe that art saves lives.

we have countless examples of someones favorite musician writing into words and sounds letters of encouragement helping to relate in times of trouble or dread. sometimes these forms of expression keeps the listener going to the next day capable of taking on conflict knowing they are not alone.

often we’re notified how our journey making artwork motivates others to accomplish a variety of ideas and goals.

art is a phenomena that introduces worlds to those who couldn’t see them before.

in 2014 before this brand existed we crossed paths with the band known as Silent Planet.

we were set up with original card stock illustrations selling artwork outside of the venue.

not having any money at the time, we attempted to make our entry fee to see them perform from art sales.

Garrett Russell noticed me and immediately wanted to support my art. i admit, it was very unexpected to me because i was so used to bands having an arrogant rock star mentality. that wasn’t the case whatsoever. not in the slightest.

during the night we experienced immense syncronicities and dejavu. while they performed i channeled a message into an illustration. it was a broken planet, some honey bees, and a script “the meek will inherit the earth”. this imagery was inherently significant to us all.

this phenomena led to my never ending journey of understanding these complexities and blossomed my relationship with them. it’s been five years since and the universe continues to bring my artwork to new cities. Silent Planet just so happens to arrive at each one. unplanned.

together we write our story out for others to read.

together we share our passion for art, for it is truly our calling.

as the years pass and pages turn, we unconditionally follow our art inspiring hundreds and thousands in our path.

this is what it means to save a life through art.

artcvlt: music and animation showcase

october is our season. clearly.

our project began two years ago october, pretty much today (oct 16th). through all this anniversary excitement we’re going to celebrate this entire month with art gatherings and exhibitions FOR our family and supporters. our first exhibition was artcvlt XIII

this wednesday, we’re hosting a music and animation showcase, we’ll be screening FLCL (fooly cooly) -another favorite animation that inspired the core of this project and our artwork. in middle school, while being at in-school-suspension, drawing versions of the FLCL comic was a vivid memory. staying up late to catch the series on adultswim was a pastime as well.

“FLCL is an original video animation (OVA) anime series written by Yōji Enokido, directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki and produced by the FLCL Production Committee, which consisted of Gainax, Production I.G, and King Records. FLCL follows Naota Nandaba, a twelve-year-old boy living in the fictional Japanese suburb of Mabase, and his interactions with Haruko Haruhara, who arrives in the quiet suburb, drawn by the industrial town houses and the Medical Mechanica building.”[x]

the second half of the night will feature musical performances from our family of the arts. (scroll down for line up or visit our artcvlt tab)

passion helps fuel success,

if you don’t love what you do you are doing something wrong. the great part about art is that it’s almost impossible to become tired of it. the only way you could be exhausted of creating is if you’re making too many commitments. while being a creator it’s easy to wear yourself thin wanting to take on the world and share your brilliant idea with everyone.

we try to promote a healthy balance. take steps back and set aside time for yourself. adventure. explore. try a new flavor. ride your bike. take a different route.

the most important thing is to never give up. continue creating and pushing that boulder. you will be surprised where dedication brings you.

you could be facing the line that could bring your career to the next level. save your money though, because it all has a price.

meet Brandon. we just recently became connected through the arts. right now he’s working at Fry and Pie. he really appreciates artwork and has began collecting work of his favorite artists and also having a few of them tattooed on him. we’re very blessed to have made the cut. it means the most that you’re grabbing some illustrations and getting them applied to your flesh. that’s incredible to even think about still to this day. it’s almost unreal. without souls like you, we would not exist.

there’s so much to creating art. we imagine the level of skill and dedication helps confirm where you place your investments and collection. thanks for connecting. we cannot wait to build a lasting relationship as time goes on. let’s ride bikes together.

we live to create.

a morning with Sanath

greetings and hello. we started our day by sharing our morning with Sanath. we planned our rendezvous at the Louis Armstrong park for a few photos to showcase our latest addition of color with the FIG WEAVER design. together we enjoyed a cup of coffee talking about the upbringing of cvlt aesthetics and how this project began. Sanath is a brilliant soul. our journey began crossing paths briefly while we were set up selling art in our usual spot on Decatur street. he actually reminded us this was how we met. we reconnected via email when he was inquiring about artwork about a week or so ago.

this morning we discussed how terrifying it could be embarking on journeys we were unfamiliar with. usually it’s in the most uncomfortable situations we find bliss along with our initial reason for seeking this higher plane. we talked about how our paths in life often meet at repeating crossroads, and the ultimate challenge is to overcome the emotion that steers this vessel.

we went on about how some things are inevitable -but they are lessons and it’s our duty to grow from them.

Sanath introduced himself at our #ARTCVLT gathering last Wednesday to promptly obtain a tee shirt, meet the artists, and enjoy the show. thinking about his sincere support for our project makes us really warm inside. it returns that childlike essence of a school crush, because deep down- we’re in love with everyone who goes out of their way to support this vision.

together we make this a reality.

Sanath is a martial artist and software developer. we give you our blessings as you bestow them unto us. we hope the leap to come to New Orleans was the right one. so far you have been enjoying it, now that our paths have crossed we hope to see more of you.

thank you for your time.

if you are on our mailing list please check your mailbox for “contact@cvltaesthetics.com” or “cvlt aesthetics” and add us to your contacts. right now our emails are going to spam and it’s making it harder to communicate we feel.

we live to create.

Progression, Cvlt Aesthetics, Hi-Ho Lounge, and the art society.

to start this off, there are a few points of last night’s event that we would like to bring to light. we are starting an arts revolution by hosting certain types of art gatherings and art shows under the name #ARTCVLT. this is just one aspect of this project as well. our art shows are meant to bring people of the same vibe and aesthetic under one roof-to mix -and have a night brought to you from the depths of our hive mind. we will provide the atmosphere and go live with you all, we just ask that you stay connected with any and all gatherings that take place and support the artists participating. click here to subscribe.

thank you for feeling this. seriously we had a mosh pit, circle pit,and each emcee was carrying heat -just great energy the entire night. there were Yu-Gi-Oh battles taking place with AKIRA streaming in the background. we couldn’t have felt more at home.

oh man- the list of thank you’s for the contributing creators and our friends and family who attended is so vast. we will start by sharing our affection for the performing artists: Proper Channels, hellboy.hellboy, Austin Rapbaum, Neji Vibez, Dapper Dan, & Gools. together we are a society of artists dabbling in the craft of creation. the visual artists and brands: Gloomy Nation, Equoni, & Cvlt Aesthetics– thanks for being present sharing your vision with us.

thank you Progression for curating this deal together with Hi-Ho Lounge. that was really groovy and i hope more people collaborate with you all in the future.

the crowd. thank you for sharing your energy with us tonight and making it what it was. there were so many new faces and people we would have loved to become connected with and have gotten to know. sadly there are limitations to man power for these gatherings. that’s all changing soon though.

here are some photos from last night

view our blog for information on previous art gatherings that took place this summer.

carpe diem.

there are only 33

tonight at Cafe Istanbul we will be celebrating the legendary film, AKIRA. this visually scoring work of ART has inspired the aesthetics and culture behind this brand. a lot of influence came from viewing this movie while growing up. we hope that you enjoy it in the same light. maybe you can celebrate the various elements of the film and see why it’s such a nu cvlt classic.

upon entry for the night, you will have the option to donate $5 or $10+ for entry. if you choose $10 or more you will receive a limited edition signed and numbered illustration by the founder himself. this is the first thing he’s drawn and made public all summer.

view our facebook event page for more details.

we live to create.
