we are falling apart and decomposing each and everyday. every day we make the choice to contribute to the world or take from it- for the world will tirelessly take from you. almost every second. as we create, we are destroyed. we highly advise to not look in this as becoming a fearmongering concept. sometimes we need to be reminded of our mortality in order to achieve a certain level of success. we are gifted each waking day to impact the world in some shape or form. it’s what you do with your time here that matters the most. this project is aimed to bring this mindset to light- there’s a certain level of destruction that is healthy, and there is a certain level of existential dread that can bring about the most dramatic changes in your life for the better.
you are responsible for how you choose to spend your time- we spend our time creating… each and every day. seriously- each day we are crafting at head quarters in our little art house in New Orleans, Louisiana. you can visit- or even send us mail. (address is listed in the footer of our news letter, contact us before coming over- it’s polite) if you are having trouble coping with a few harsh realities of life, feel free to message us or email to: email@example.com, we are very responsive to email and we are wanting to develop a true artistic family.
thank you for your time, below are a few selected photos from creators we have been developing a relationship through the #artcvlt tags on instagram, or photographers we personally picked.
it’s never really too bad sleeping in parking lots. you’re just going to be hot for a while, maybe toss and turn a bit. either way you’re still alive and living for the sake of adventure. we had plans to see our brothers perform in Silent Planet at the vans warped tour. we’re in Houston, TX. they’ve come a long way- i wonder how they deal with the heat if any pals are in the Houston Texas area, it would be nice to gather around today-tomorrow.
tonight at Cafe Istanbul we will be celebrating the legendary film, AKIRA. this visually scoring work of ART has inspired the aesthetics and culture behind this brand. a lot of influence came from viewing this movie while growing up. we hope that you enjoy it in the same light. maybe you can celebrate the various elements of the film and see why it’s such a nu cvlt classic.
upon entry for the night, you will have the option to donate $5 or $10+ for entry. if you choose $10 or more you will receive a limited edition signed and numbered illustration by the founder himself. this is the first thing he’s drawn and made public all summer.
greetings and hello friends, family, and readers. much has been taking place within the art + clothing project over the summer. it’s been a very fruitful adventure releasing the new summer collection-as well as hosting art shows and pop-ups throughout the city of New Orleans. if you are reading this and attended one, wow seriously thanks- we really appreciated your involvement 100%. our next production will be an AKIRA movie night.
Akira has been a movie that’s inspired the core art and aesthetic of our project. it’s more than just a movie night for us. it’s a chance to celebrate the things that inspired us creatively growing up. we want our family of artists and lovers of the craft to gather in a very intimate setting for this legendary film. sharing drinks, snacks and forgetting the outside realm for just a moment. we invite you to become inspired as we were when viewing this movie. the art, animation, and music will consume you entirely bringing you directly to Neo-Tokyo.
as we grow older we find it vital to be reminded of the very things that shaped our creativity. we find so much value in this. thank you all for helping make this a success before it even takes place.
we are coming out of pocket to provide sound and kind of pull the production together- when you come Friday please take a moment to look at our artwork set up and snag a print or a new tee shirt. also not only just us- there will be a few other sponsored brands/visual artists helping make this event a success, so if you are able- pick up art/merchandise from them as well.
Friday, July 28th at Cafe Istanbul – 2372 Saint Claude Ave. – New Orleans, LA
Saturday July 22nd we are hosting an art+music pop-up at Golden Chips in the French Quarter. Golden Chips is a Belgium Fry restaurant that serves up real filling and radical fries. our founder Leeaux will be live painting a new work of art for them to rest on their walls accompanied by the music from Shane Clay, Neji Vibez, and E.T. – this was seriously just an idea at first that came to life.
we firmly believe in the support of even mom & pop shops. if we have the opportunity to host our art or go live in collaboration with them, we’re probably going to take it. to rsvp click here.
brothers of the arts, Neji Vibez and Pauly touched down so we could talk about slight improvements for our art shows and a few more plans for the future.
there’s a lot of building taking place setting up some of the new art gatherings for the fall. we are kind of planning to take this project a bit further after last nights inspiration. thank you.
we adventured around the French Quarter consuming coffee and brainstorming.
for so long i (Leeaux) survived on Brother’s fries. pretty much the entire summer of 2016- every other day a small or large order of french fries. this is the life-style of the artist. also fun fact- to save money to produce the first batch of the Armageddon Collection tees that was a majority of my diet.
